Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I’ll meet you there. -Rumi

We all face times when we feel overwhelmed by life’s demands. Our inner critic can limit our capacity to nurture our needs and nourish our passion. Fear can weaken our faith in ourselves. I can help you navigate your path back toward your natural state of balance and resilience. I am a mental health counselor working from a Gestalt perspective. I entered the field of mental health with an extensive background teaching therapeutic yoga. Yogic philosophy aligns well with Gestalt Therapy as both disciplines address our experience of our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies in the present moment.

Gestalt Therapy is creative and experimental, fueled by curiosity. There is no road map to an intended destination. Rather, each step along the way leads to the next. Healing is supported by deepening awareness of what is right now, and what may be possible.

We collaborate to create a space where you can safely and freely engage in self-exploration. This can manifest in talk therapy, role-playing, dream work and organically created spontaneous experiments. We may uncover a variety of issues, such as old wounds, unfinished business, repressed needs, and archaic limiting belief systems. We are often unaware of our available resources. We work to illuminate a wider and more self-affirming array of options in your reserve of coping strategies and styles of engagement.

Guided by compassion, respect and integrity I welcome you into our shared experience. Together we will discover the depth of your potential to know, love and heal yourself.

Those seeking my services include adults struggling to manage depression, anxiety, shame, feelings of inadequacy, lack of direction, panic, perfectionism, compulsivity, body image, sexuality, relationships, family, transitions, illness, loss and grief.

Specialty populations: Women managing breast cancer, those whose lives have been affected by cancer, individuals with low self esteem and habitual self-destructive/self-defeating thought patterns and behaviors, and older adults managing mobility, pain and loneliness.
